The Community Improvement Designation (CID) fund is a grant program that was established by the Riverside County Board of Supervisors to support valuable services and projects addressing needs in communities across Riverside County.
In the Fourth District, nearly 175 unique organizations in recent years have received funding from this program. Beneficiaries have been productive organizations that have done outstanding work in supporting children, seniors and people in need throughout the Coachella Valley and Palo Verde Valley.
Supervisor V. Manuel Perez is pleased to support worthy projects and organizations in the Fourth District, and welcomes local organizations to apply for financial support through the CID program.
Funds are limited each fiscal year (July 1-June 30) and a complete CID application is required for every funding request. Every CID request is considered individually and on its own merit. Preference will be given to organizations and activities that directly benefit residents of the Fourth District.
If you are interested in applying for a CID grant, please complete an application and send it to Supervisor Perez’s office.
For questions regarding the CID application or process, please contact Board Assistant Esmeralda Perez at 760-863-8211 or ESPerez@rivco.org.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the process of applying for CID funds?
First, return the completed application to Supervisor Perez’s office. Once an application is received, it will be reviewed and considered. If an application is recommended for funding, the recommended allocation will be placed on the Board of Supervisors agenda for Board approval. Funds are awarded approximately four to six weeks after Board approval.
What types of documentation are required?
Every CID application requires thorough documentation which includes a budget for the project/program and an IRS Form 990 for non-profits. If awarded funding, a grant report form is due within 60 days of utilizing the funds.
What can the funds be spent on?
CID funds can only be utilized for the purpose specified in the CID application.
When are CID funds available?
CID funding is allocated year-round, throughout the fiscal year (July 1-June 30) until funds are depleted.
How much can I apply for?
The amount you apply for should reflect the costs of the project/program. There is no limit on the amount you can apply for, but funding for community improvement projects is limited and requests for assistance through this program regularly exceed the available funding.
