North Shore is seeing a burgeoning population of young families new to the area, and they are very keen on quality of life issues. That’s where the new North Shore Community Center comes in to the picture: the facility on Corvina Drive, literally a stone’s throw from the Salton Sea shoreline, is home to community council meetings where local residents discuss the future of their town. And those meetings—conducted in both Spanish and English—are increasingly well-attended by a diverse blend of English-speaking seniors and Spanish-speaking young families. North Shore is truly the Coachella Valley’s version of the Great American Melting Pot. The community center doubles as a day care center—a welcome addition to the community for many residents. The Salton Sea State Recreation Area is an integral part of North Shore.
