Youth Advisory Council Spreading Holiday Cheer for Children Living in Foster Care
PALM DESERT - A workshop to inform area veterans about their benefits is to set for the Joslyn Senior Center in Palm Desert on Thursday, April 13.
Sponsored by the County of Riverside Department of Veterans Services, the Riverside County Veterans Advisory Committee and the Desert Veterans Memorial Association, the workshop is open to the public and free of charge.
"The workshop will focus on Veterans Administration benefits and the proper procedure for accessing those benefits," said Tom Henry, a retired U.S. Army Colonel and Supervisor Roy Wilson’s representative on the county Veterans Advisory Committee. 'A variety of qualified V.A. personnel will be on hand to answer questions about topics like eligibility for V.A. medical care, the V.A. claims process and the Riverside County National Cemetery.'
In addition, Henry said, the workshop will provide an overview of veterans-related projects in Riverside County. The workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. till noon, and the Senior Center is located at 73-750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert.
