Firefighters Brace for Another Round of Santa Ana Winds

Riverside County firefighters are planning to staff additional fire engines, hand crews, dozers and aircraft starting Monday morning, in anticipation of another possible Santa Ana wind condition early next week.

Cal Fire is also moving 100 fire engines from Northern California into Southern California in anticipation of fire activity.

The fire department has cancelled days off for several personnel starting Saturday morning. Typically during these standbys, fire officials ensure that all of equipment is ready to go. Needless to say, they keep a very close eye on the weather.

Also, they're keeping an eye on all safety precautions with department personnel to ensure that injuries are as minimal as is possible under very dangerous conditions.
