Got Graffiti? Call the Graffiti Hotline for Relief

Unless you’ve been hiding out in a cave, you know that graffiti is a modern plague, and we here in the desert are not immune to it.

Fortunately, there’s relief for residents of the unincorporated area of the desert region. If you spot graffiti, you can call the Graffiti Hotline at 888-472-3488, and the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District will dispatch a vehicle to dispatch of the problem. This service is provided free, either through the CSD itself, or through a CSD contract with the County of Riverside, depending upon the location.

On Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting agenda is a request from Supervisor Roy Wilson to provide an additional high-tech graffiti abatement vehicle to the desert region. The vehicle and its crew of two are capable of closely matching the underlying paint so that repair jobs are smooth and seamless.

The new vehicle would cover the Fourth District and the eastern parts of the Fifth District, in the Pass Area.
