Blythe Area Agencies Get "New to Them" Computers
Two agencies in the Palo Verde Valley-the School District and the Transit Agency-took advantage of the County of Riverside's computer recycling program recently.
The Palo Verde Unified School District received 10 computers for students' classroom use, and the Palo Verde Transit Agency received two units to be used to plan intra-county and regional transportation via the Internet for customers traveling outside of the Blythe area.
"This is the ideal scenario for used computers," said Fourth District Supervisor Roy Wilson. "Not only do we recycle e-waste effectively, but we also help the budgets of smaller government agencies and non-profits."
The Board of Supervisors is continually seeking opportunities to reutilize equipment that is being taken out of service with certified non-profit organizations and public schools. Anyone that knows of a genuine need, contact Robert Howdyshell, Director of Purchasing, at 951/955-4936.
