Open House Set for Mesa Verde "Infill" Housing
To celebrate the first phase of its infill housing effort in the Mesa Verde area, DACE/RANCHO - a Coachella-based non-profit that manages a federally-designated Rural Empowerment Zone-has announced an open house this Thursday in Mesa Verde. The event is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. at the non-profit’s most recent project site on Pepper and Green Streets.
The infill housing project was made possible thanks to a close partnership with the County of Riverside’s Economic Development Agency and Fourth District Supervisor Wilson’s office.
The five "factory-built" (or "manufactured") homes in Mesa Verde are equipped with the same amenities of "stick-built" homes, including energy-efficient appliances, carpeting, and central air and heating. The three- to four-bedroom models selected by DACE/RANCHO both come with two bathrooms and a detached garage.
Completion on the units is scheduled for Christmas, with another five infill homes set for completion by March 2008, according to Project Manager Terry Archer.
