Pougnet Appointed as "Alternate" to Gaming Committee
Recently-elected Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet has been appointed to the Indian Gaming Local Community Benefit Committee as an "alternate."
The appointment, recommended by Fourth District Supervisor Roy Wilson, was approved by the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday. Committee alternates become committee members when vacancies occur, and the alternate for former Palm Springs Mayor Ron Oden-Banning City Councilman John Machias- is now serving as an active member.
Pougnet has served on the Palm Springs City Council for the last five years, and was elected Mayor in 2007.
