No Board of Supervisors Meeting Next Tuesday
Since next Monday, January 21, is a holiday--Martin Luther King Jr. Day—the Riverside County Board of Supervisors will not be meeting on Tuesday.
Board Policy A-2 specifies that board meetings do not take place on a Tuesday following a Monday holiday, so the next regularly-scheduled board meeting is January 29.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a national holiday observed on the third Monday of January each year. President Reagan signed a bill creating the federal holiday honoring King in 1983. The holiday was expanded when President George H.W. Bush signed a bill creating a month-long observation.
