Supervisors Approve DACE Project Funding at Chiriaco

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors today approved $17,940 to complete a paving project at the General Patton Memorial Museum.

The Desert Alliance for Community Empowerment (DACE) has already spent $30,000 on the project, and Supervisor Wilson said in his written background for today’s agenda item "completion of the project will be a great benefit to the community that is well known for the landmark museum honoring our military."

The Patton Memorial Museum is located at Chiriaco Summit; DACE is a non-profit agency headquartered in Coachella, with a variety of projects in the desert mostly in low income communities.

The repaving project consists of pulverizing old, rough asphalt, and creating a "smooth, visitor friendly parking surface."
