Single-Day Record Set at National Date Festival
The 2008 total Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival attendance was down slightly from last year, but a single-day record was set on Saturday, Feb. 23.
Total attendance for the 10-day Fair and Fest was 288,410, while the Feb. 23 number was 57,218.
The attendance number had cleared the 300,000 mark for the past two years, and the very slight slippage this year might very well be accounted for by Sunday’s wind . . . and the fact that the economy is in a rut.
By all measures, however, the 62 nd Annual version of the only Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival in the nation was a success and a tribute the skills of the people who run the Fair—the staff of the Economic Development Agency.
