Mesa Verde to Get New Community Center

When the Mesa Verde Community Council meets on Wednesday, Feb. 13, they’ll hear news about a new planned 5,000 square foot community center on Mesa Drive.

For this meeting the Council will be utilizing one of Rancho Housing Alliance’s new “infill housing” project homes, right next door to the location of proposed new community center.

The community center will have provisions for a child care center, including an outdoor play area, and a meeting room.

Desert Alliance for Community Empowerment (DACE) plans a small commercial development adjacent to the community center. The combination of the two projects will establish a new “entryway” for Mesa Verde community.

In addition to a report on the project, the Mesa Verde Community Council, meeting as the Community Services Area Advisory Board, will consider ways to reduce the number of renters who skip town without paying their water bills.

Rancho Housing Alliance is holding another Open House for interested families at 18060 Pepper Drive at 5 p.m. Staff will be there to answer questions and provide applications. The Community Council meeting gets underway at 6.
