Tour de Palm Springs Gets Jazzier This Year

The 10 th annual Tour de Palm Springs, a popular event which draws thousands of cyclists to the City of Palm Springs, gets under way this Saturday morning (as early as the 7 o’clock hour, for those who are doing the longer distances).

It begins and ends in downtown Palm Springs, but for the first time, returning cyclists will be greeted by something that’s sure to be music to their ears: a jazz concert.

“Tour de Jazz” will be entertaining more than just cyclists, though: the public is invited— encouraged, really—to listen to the free concert. It’s going to be held on Palm Canyon, which will be closed to traffic from Arenas to Baristo.

The jazz concert gets under way at 5 p.m. and concludes at 9. For more info, check out the City of Palm Springs news release at http://www.ci.palm-springs.ca.us/public_affairs/city_news/Jazz%20Downtown.pdf
