Pardon Me, Boy, is this the Coachella Choo Choo?
Well, no. But close. It's actually the Coachella Express, and it is ready to chug into the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival just in time for the 2008 event.
And listen to this: the Amtrak train ride, from Los Angeles Union Station on April 24, is free to the first 500 folks to show up with camping tickets for the three-day event. The train will transport music (and camping) aficionados from Los Angeles to a temporary train platform in Indio. Shuttles will take campers to the check-in area at Empire Polo Field.
On Monday, April 28, the Coachella Express heads back to Los Angeles.
The free train ride is the result of a partnership between Amtrak and the sponsors of "The Coachella," Goldenvoice.
The free tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis (and fans must have the three-day camping pass to avail themselves of this opportunity at www.Coachella.com).
This year's Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival runs from Friday, April 25 through
Sunday, April 27.
