Bermuda Dunes Overlay Program Gets Hearing
Residents of the unincorporated community of Bermuda Dunes are invited-encouraged, actually-to participate in the upcoming "Bermuda Dunes Overlay Program" community meeting, set for Thursday, March 13 at James Monroe Elementary School.
The Bermuda Dunes Community Council acting in collaboration with the County of Riverside has proposed an overlay program, which would provide community-wide standards that address unique neighborhood concerns regarding the quality of life in Bermuda Dunes.
The Bermuda Dunes Overlay will be applied to all areas within the Bermuda Dunes Community Council Boundaries: Bermuda Dunes Boundaries.
Provisions of the Overlay would apply to all currently approved and future residential developments. Property owners will be required to comply with the Neighborhood Preservation Standards of the Overlay Zone, which are designed to maintain a safe, orderly, sanitary and aesthetically pleasing environment on both public and private properties.
Some examples of standards that will be discussed at the meeting: street environment, parking, yard maintenance, fences and walls, facade treatment, outdoor lighting and signage.
The meeting on March 13 gets under way at 6 p.m. James Monroe School is located at 42-100 Yucca Lane in Bermuda Dunes.
