Junking a Clunker: Indio Code Enforcement Makes it Easy
It used to be that getting rid of a junked car was an expensive proposition. That is no longer the case in Riverside County.
The real challenge seems to be getting to the point that you admit that the inoperative wreck on your property is not ever going to amount to anything but an eyesore.
Here's a quick and easy test of whether or not it's time to get rid of it:
1. Has the car been on your property and immobile for more than three months?
2. Is "free" an attractive price to you?
If you answered "yes" to one or more of the above questions, you are a prime candidate for the County's "Junk Your Clunker" program.
All you have to do is contact the Indio District Office of the Code Enforcement Department and request an application form. They'll pretty much do all of the rest of the work once you've returned the request form, with vehicle information on it.
This is for all communities from Blythe to Desert Edge. Call Code Enforcement at (760) 863-7180. Your neighbors will be glad you did!
