Pharmacy Coming to Community of Mecca

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved a lease agreement Tuesday which would allow AMIS Pharmacy Corporation (DBA "Mecca Community Pharmacy) to operate a pharmacy within the Mecca Family Care Clinic. It would be the first pharmacy to operate within the East Valley community.

The Riverside County Economic Development Agency completed construction on the Clinic, located at 91-275 Avenue 66, back in 2005, and 1,275 square feet of space was reserved for a pharmacy. AMIS was the successful bidder in a competitive process for providing retail pharmacy services on the site.

Redevelopment Area Funding in the amount of $45,000 will be used to convert the reserved space into a functional operating pharmacy.

Part of the reason for selecting AMIS was their experience in providing pharmaceutical management and their ability to be operational within six months.

The Board approved the lease Tuesday during their regular Tuesday meeting.
