COD Employs New System to Improve Safety
College of the Desert is unveiling a new emergency notification system which will allow the local community college to send text messages to students, faculty and staff during a campus emergency.
The new system, dubbed AlertU, allows administrators to send text alerts to subscribers' mobile devices . . . which could be a life-saving communications tool.
Students and employees can subscribe to receive text alert messages on their cell phones or other mobile electronic devices. More good news: It's free.
