Sheriff Reaches Out to Desert Recruits
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department wants a few good men and women recruits here in the
desert.
And to prove that commitment to finding local people interested in a career in law
enforcement, the Department has opened a new recruitment office on Washington Street in Palm
Desert.
The Sheriff’s Department has had difficulty in the past keeping personnel in the desert, because
a large part of the recruitment came from the Inland Empire, or even other counties. The strategy
now focuses more on getting recruits who already live in the desert and are more likely to stay
here as their careers develop.
The recruiting office is located in the Albertson’s shopping center on the southwest corner
of Washington and Hovley, next to the 19th Hole Sports Bar and Restaurant.
