Regional Parks Feasibility Meeting on Tap
The Coachella Valley Recreation and Park District and the Riverside County Regional Park and Open Space District will host a presentation by consultants preparing the Whitewater River and Coachella Canal Trails Feasibility study.
According to a news release from the Coachella Valley Community Trails Alliance “This well-funded study could be a landmark for the future of urban trail development in the Coachella Valley. Public input is welcome and appreciated.”
The meeting takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, June 3, at 6 p.m. at the Portola Community Center, meeting Room #1. The Community Center is located at 45-480 Portola Avenue in Palm Desert.
Hikers, bicyclists, and equestrian enthusiasts are especially encouraged to attend this meeting, which explores the Whitewater River and Dillon Road Corridor regional trails. Trail planning consultant The Dangermond Group will make the presentation, and the study session will discuss project goals, feasibility, connectivity, usage, alternative routes and potential barriers.
