'Desert Palms' Council Formation Goes to Supervisors

Delayed by a week for fine-tuning of the establishing resolution, a recommendation to form the Desert Palms Community Council goes to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors next Tuesday, June 10.

The new community council boundaries will include Sun City Palm Desert, territory to the immediate north and south, and a small area to the southeast. Included in those areas are the shopping centers anchored by Stater Brothers grocery store, Coco’s Restaurant, and the commercial development which includes Eisenhower Clinic and Comfort Suites Inn. On the north side of the new community council is section 19, a vacant square mile area north of Frances Way.

Thirteen residents have applied for one of 5 positions on the new community council.
