High Tech Graffiti Van High Tech Graffiti Van
These photos show the inside of the high tech graffiti van which is now on the job helping to wipe out this visual blight in the Coachella Valley. In the upper photo, “graffiti painter” Jimi Cardinal has a look at the computer to show him the locations of the reported problems. In the lower photo, he’s beginning the process of mixing the precise hue of paint to match the color of an existing block wall. This state-of-the-art eradication tool enables the technicians to quickly, accurately and efficiently blast off the existing graffiti without painting an entire block wall or side of building. The results are expected to yield an almost undetectable repaint—unlike some of those unsightly paint-over jobs we’ve seen in the past. The public’s help is requested: If you spot graffiti anywhere, call the toll-free graffiti hotline at 866 732-1444. Keep that number handy in the car and at home. Refrigerator magnets are available free at Supervisor Roy Wilson’s 4th District office in Palm Desert, 73-710 Fred Waring Drive.
