Green Building 101 Courses Offered at COD
Two introductory courses on sustainability, green building design and the LEED rating systems are scheduled for July 17 or 24.
The course instructor is Rick Fochtman, LEED AP, Construction Services Director, Bernards and Education Chair, US Green Building Council-Inland Empire. An explanation LEED certification and accreditation, introduction to the family of LEED rating systems and application guides, overview of costs, summary of design and construction process and review of LEED NC rating system and selected criteria.
The course is sponsored by an educational partnership between: San Bernardino Community College District, Inland Empire Economic Partnership, NECA/IBEW, Bernards, and College of the Desert’s Center for Training and Development, Institute for Sales and Service Excellence and Advanced Transportation Technology & Energy.
The seminar on July 17 will be held at COD’s Institute for Sales and Service Excellence at the Westfield Mall Palm Desert, Suite C101, 72840 Highway 111, Palm Desert or attend July 24 at the San Bernardino Community College District, Applied Technology Training Center, 114 S. Del Rosa Drive, San Bernardino. Registration and breakfast for both days begins at 7:30 a.m. and are scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon.
