County Teen Leaders to Gather in Desert Hot Springs
Teen leaders from all over Riverside County will be meeting in Desert Hot Springs on July 24 for the eleventh annual Youth Commission Retreat.
Members of the Riverside County Youth Commission will develop leadership skills and will hear keynote speaker Stu Cabe discuss team-building, motivation, awareness and the power that young people hold in the community. The Students in the Youth Commission will learn about creating an action plan to help them develop goals and put them in place and will discuss California’s open-meeting law (the Brown Act) and parliamentary procedure.
The event is open only to members of Youth Advisory Councils in each of the five Riverside County Supervisorial districts. The councils explore issues that concern young people in Riverside County and then report back to the Board of Supervisors.
The retreat is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the Miracle Springs Hotel & Spa, 10625
Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs. For more information, contact Noel Loughrin at (760) 863-2556 or
