SunLine Transit Agency Featured in ‘Metro Magazine’

The SunLine Transit Agency has been listed as one of the Top Ten Transit Systems to work for, according to Metro Magazine, an industry publication with circulation throughout the United States.

The magazine credits General Manager Mikel Oglesby with “instilling a vision of success throughout the organization, through teamwork, open communication and providing each employee with the tools to succeed through education and training.”

The article notes that Oglesby has been instrumental in engaging the Board of Directors in Agency activities, and that employees are appreciative of the Board’s participation.

The magazine also praises Ogelsby for his openness and willingness to communicate with employees.

SunLine was selected as one of the Top Ten because of its participation in multi-cultural and holiday events, its giving back to the community (which bolsters employee morale) and for its healthy lifestyle activities.

Southern California was well represented on the Top Ten list, with the Riverside Transit Agency and the Orange County Transportation Authority also making the cut. One other regional transit agency, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, is on the list. The others are located in Alexandria, Va, Urbana, Il., Lansing, Mi., Dayon, Ohio, Hartford Connecticut, and Richmond, Va.
