Rivco, Stater Bros Team Up to Fight Hunger

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors, Stater Bros. Supermarkets, and the Riverside County Economic Development Agency are teaming up for the Riverside County Food Drive “Take a Bite Out of Hunger.”

The effort is an attempt to address the increased needs of our county’s residents who have fallen on hard times.  Riverside County’s food pantries are struggling to keep up with the increased demand on them. And the Board of Supervisors and Stater Bros. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jack H. Brown are tackling the pantry issue through the holiday season.

All 46 Stater Bros. Supermarkets in Riverside County will have bins for collection of donated non-perishable food items from November 5 through January 5. All items collected will be shared with families across Riverside County who are in need of help during the upcoming holiday season.

In the Coachella Valley, Food In Need of Distribution, also known as “FIND,” will help distribute food collected.

The kick-off for the food drive is set at the new Stater Bros. Supermarket in the City of Moreno Valley. County officials will join Stater Bros. officials at the new market’s grand opening on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7:15 AM. The new store is located at 14425 Moreno BeachDrive.

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors is expressing appreciation to Stater Bros., to FIND, and to Second Harvest (which will distribute the food in the western end of the County) for their support of the “Riverside County Food Drive.”
