County Assistant CEO Leads Walk for Breast Cancer Research

When was the last time you walked 60 miles in three days? Well, you still have time to join the Riverside County Economic Development Agency (EDA) on their team “Robin’s Ramblers.”

The team is led by two-time breast cancer survivor Robin Zimpfer, the Assistant County Executive Officer for EDA. Together the team has already gathered pledges for over $58,000 and is still looking for support and assistance. You don’t have to walk to be a team member; donations are accepted in lieu of walking.

“This is a wonderful way to help find a cure for breast cancer, and support research, treatment and prevention,” Zimpfer said. “Each of our team members has been training for the grueling 3-Day Walk in San Diego and are excited for event day and what this means for the one in every eight women that will be diagnosed with this disease.

“Not to mention,” she added, “All those who have survived or have lost a loved one.”

Team members include Deanna Lorson, Cheri Adame, Olivia Barnes, Paula Carlson, Wesley Ellins, Delia Flores, Angela Franklin, Cindy Hui-Manalo, Johnny Ledesma, Kayleena Lundy, Heidi Marshall, Janet McFall, Sarah Mundy, Parween Nazaar, Ronica Nieves, Brenda Salas, Nancy Tittenhofer, Carmen Vargas, and Brandy Wicks.

The Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk, benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation, will be held from Nov. 21-23, in the city of San Diego. Those interested in making a donation to the team should visit www.the3day.org and click “donate now.”  Then select “ search for team,” and type “Robin’s Ramblers.”  Or . . . call 951.955.6664.
