Riverside County Urges Food Drive Help
As the County of Riverside and Stater Bros Food Drive heads down the stretch, the County is asking for your help in feeding the needy.
Think about this:
For every $5 donated, our partnering food banks can generate $125 worth of food. Can you give up the latte you purchase in the morning or the hamburger you eat at lunch and instead contribute to this effort? If everyone visiting this site donates $5 just think of the impact this would make. This is the season of giving why not make your $5 go a long way to Take a Bite Out of Hunger in Riverside County?
Riverside County food pantries’ food supply is at an all time low as hunger and the need for food have dramatically increased; collateral damage to our economy is unprecedented and our County is not immune. Moms, dads, grandparents, friends and neighbors have lost their jobs and times are tough even for those who are fortunate enough to be employed. Families with children, retired senior citizens and the like are going hungry and Riverside County food pantries are struggling to keep up with the increasing need for food.
The Riverside County Board of Supervisors in partnership with Stater Bros. Supermarkets, Second Harvest Food Bank and FIND Food Bank, Inc. have committed to take a bite out of hunger with this Inaugural Take a Bite Out of Hunger - Riverside County Food Drive.
This is the kick-off year of what will be an annual Take a Bite Out of Hunger Food Drive. This inaugural drive is a learning experience for the County and Stater Bros. and both look forward to bettering this food drive each year. The goal is of course to positively impact as many families and individuals as possible. The public is invited to brainstorm with us to improve our efforts to adequately provide needed food, and you can do that by clicking here.
