Publics View on New Desert Transmission Lines Sought

Something called the "Renewable Energy Transmission Initiative" (RETI) is coming to Palm Desert for a one-day show this Saturday, Jan. 10. The public is invited.

The Stakeholders Steering Committee of RETI will host public meetings to seek public input on proposed new zones for renewable energy power plant and transmission lines in the Coachella Valley and elsewhere in California. The Commission’s “Renewable Energy Transmission Initiative” is studying several large new energy zones and transmission line corridors, primarily to be located in the California desert, to meet the state’s new renewable energy standards for electric utilities.

This Saturday is an opportunity for the public to be heard on a variety of renewable energy issues relating to the potential development of renewable energy resources and the transmission corridors which would move that energy through the desert.

The public is invited to participate, no admission.

This Saturday, January 10, 10:00 am at Palm Desert City Hall, 73710 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, one block east of San Pablo Avenue.
