Saving Money on Prescriptions Just Became a Whole Lot Easier

In the eastern part of the County of Riverside—that’s us, here in the Fourth District—nearly 25 percent of adults to not have any kind of healthcare coverage for some or all of their prescription drugs. And nearly 23 percent of kids under age 17 don’t, either.

That’s why a partnership between the County and the National Association of Counties (NACo), along with CVS Caremark PCS Health L.P., is so important.

The NACo Prescription Discount Card Program helps residents save money on prescriptions not covered by insurance. Even better: there are no eligibility restrictions and even prescriptions for your pets can be purchased through this program.

Plus, it’s free.

Residents who participate in the program will have access to more than 59,000 chain and independent pharmacies nationwide . . . and they can save up to 30 percent on generic medicines.

The County’s participation in the program does not cost the county or participating residents a dime. To utilize the discount card, all you have to do is show it to the pharmacy.

To get your own card, visit the Office on Aging at 73-750 Catalina Way in Palm Desert, or call 341-0401. You can also call 800 510-2020.
