Two New Swine Flu Cases in Rivco; Della Lindley School Closed
Two additional probable cases of swine flu have been identified in Riverside County, bringing the total number of cases to six, public health officials announced today.

Classic Play ‘Blood Wedding’ Opens Tonight at COD
College of the Desert is presenting the West Coast premiere of a new American translation of Federico Garcia Lorca’s classic, Blood Wedding, opening tonight. There will be four performances through Sunday at the Pollock Theatre on campus. Evening performances are tonight and Saturday at 7 p.m. and matinees are Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets for the COD Performing Arts Production are $12, or $10 for students and senior citizens.

The familiar red jeeps of Desert Adventures carried volunteers to the site of the Berdoo Canyon cleanup on Earth Day 2009. When they were finished, the workers had filled a large roll-off container provided by Burrtec, and they also had removed more than 100 tires from the desert.
'Desert Adventures' Organizes Cleanup on ‘Earth Day’
In celebration of Earth Day 2009, Desert Adventures organized a clean-up of Berdoo Canyon off of Dillon Road just east of Indio Hills. Fifiteen Desert Adventures guides and staff were joined by a work crew from Burrtec Waste Management, Wanda Raschkow from the Bureau of Land Management, three members of the Front Runners/Great Outdoors Hiking Club, and a handful of community volunteers.
