Supervisor Wilson Recovering from Hip Surgery

Fourth District Supervisor Roy Wilson is recovering from hip surgery—the result of a hairline fracture—and as of early this week, is undergoing therapy at home.

The Supervisor underwent the surgical procedure on Friday, April 10, and was taking his first tentative steps the next day. On Monday, he was able to go home. The prognosis is for a full and relatively quick recovery.

“I’m anxious to get back to the work that needs doing,” he said. “I’m certainly hoping that I can be back on the dais for the important budget items that will surface at the April 28 board meeting.

“I really want to express my gratitude to all of those who sent flowers and kind words,” he said. “That kind of sentiment works better than pain pills.”

Supervisor Wilson is currently ambulatory with the help of a walker. Day by day he’s able to function better, and he said that he hopes that he will be able to attend the April 28 meeting without the walker.
