2009 Blythe Community Recognition Day on Tap April 29

On April 29, the community of Blythe will hold its annual “Community Recognitions Day,” honoring individuals, organizations and businesses who have acted “above and beyond” for their community.

Recognition will be given to: Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, Chamber Member of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Chamber Director of the Year, Teachers of the Year and numerous Recognition awards to community members who have given to their community.

The new Board of Directors for the Blythe Area Chamber of Commerce will be introduced and the President sworn in by Mayor Robert Crain.

Certificates will also be handed out by representatives from the offices of Supervisor Roy Wilson, Assemblyman Manuel Perez, State Senator Denise Ducheny and U.S. Representative Mary Bono-Mack.

This event is held annually at the Blythe Community Center, 445 N. Broadway in Blythe. The social hour and buffet dinner begins at 5 p.m., with the ceremonies following at 6pm. The event is free, open to the public and will incorporate door prizes, surprises and a 50/50 drawing.
