Moving Wall™ Memorial on Display at Forest Lawn-Cathedral City

Honoring its commitment to bring meaningful community events to Southern California, Forest Lawn-Cathedral City will host The Moving Wall™, the half-size replica of the Washington, D.C. Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The Moving Wall™ has been touring the country for the past 25 years. It will be on display at Forest Lawn-Cathedral City from Thursday, May 28, through Monday, June 1. Opening ceremonies for The Moving Wall™ will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

The Community of Indio Hills held ribbon cutting festivities just before the first Indio Hills Community Council meeting in their new digs this week. The new community center features a host of amenities, among them many “green” features, including solar (photovoltaic) electrical power, efficient passive solar design and many other design elements which make the building very eco-friendly. In lower photo, Indio Hills Council Chair Ron Fiero (in yellow shirt) helps Supervisor Roy Wilson (tie) cut the ribbon on the new facility. Supervisor Wilson and Jamil Dada to Receive WRCOG Awards

The Western Riverside Council of Governments (WRCOG) has named Riverside County Supervisor Roy Wilson as its the 2009 recipient of the “Norton Younglove Air Quality Award” for outstanding efforts to improve air quality in Riverside County. Local businessman Jamil Dada, has also been honored with WRCOG’s “Patricia Ann Wilson Award” for outstanding community service.
