College of the Desert’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration is Tomorrow
College of the Desert’s Latina Leadership Network Club, MEChA, and COD Ballet Folklorico are teaming up to sponsor this year’s campus Cinco de Mayo Fiesta, tomorrow, May 5 (duh!), from noon till 2 p.m.
Music will be provided by KUNA 96.7 Radio, and exhibits will feature artwork by the children of COD’s Child Development Center. Folklorico Dancers from Valley View Elementary School will be on hand, as will COD’s own Ballet Folklorico. The speaker will be author, radio DJ and musician Roberto Tijerina. COD Café will have barbecue ribs with rice and beans on the menu.
The festivities take place on the Quad, between the Dining Hall and Administration Building. Everyone is invited to attend this free event; use the Monterey Avenue entrance.
