Two Pinning Ceremonies for COD Nursing Programs
There are two rites of passage scheduled this week for College of the Desert nursing students, in addition to which many of them will also graduate from COD on Friday, May 22.
On Thursday, May 21 at 2 p.m. at the McCallum Theatre, vocational nursing students will be pinned in recognition of having completed the one-year training course that leads to the Licensed Vocational Nursing exam.
Registered nursing students will be at the McCallum on May 22, also at 2 p.m., for their own pinning program. The candlelight ceremony celebrates completion of the two-year program by students who qualify to take the RN exam by earning their Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
