Thousand Palms Residents to Tour Affordable Communities
In an effort to demonstrate the quality of affordable communities to the Thousand Palms Community Council and interested residents, the Palm Desert Development Company is hosting a tour of two of the company’s affordable communities.
Palm Desert Development is proposing to construct an 80-unit affordable housing project on 40 acres north of the existing community center and library. The project is envisioned as a buffer between the residential community on the east side of Robert Road and the industrial park to the west.
The company plans to donate 15 acres of open space on the project’s eastern flank.
On Thursday, June 11, the company will provide vans or busses to transport community members to two affordable housing projects here in the Coachella Valley.
Residents of the community are invited to take the tour. If you’re interested, RSVP to 568-1048 and reference the “Affordable Community Tour.” Or send an e-mail to Jackie White at jwhite@pddc.net. Deadline to RSVP is Tuesday, June 9.
You can also contact Supervisor Wilson’s office and ask for Denys Arcuri.
The tour will be leaving from the Community Center, 31-819 Robert Road at 10 a.m., returning at 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
