CSUSB’s Palm Desert Campus Sets Enrollment Deadlines

With continued cuts to the state budget and stricter enrollment limits at all California State University campuses, Cal State San Bernardino will enact application for admission deadlines for transfer, graduate, post-baccalaureate and teaching credential students for fall 2009.

The fall 2009 quarter begins on Thursday, Sept. 24.

Graduate, post-baccalaureate and credential students have until Monday, Aug. 31, to apply for admission to the university for admission for fall 2009.

Cal State San Bernardino has already closed first-time freshman applications for fall 2009 and the winter and spring 2010 quarters. The application deadline for transfer students was June 30.

“The California State University faces unprecedented budget cuts, and among the many unfortunate consequences is that we’ll be forced to close our application period earlier than ever before,” said Cal State San Bernardino President Albert Karnig. “The best action students can take is to apply immediately, because we won’t be able to accept applications after these new deadlines.”

Students interested in applying to CSUSB can find more information at http://admissions.csusb.edu and may submit their applications online by logging onto www.csumentor.edu.

CSUMentor is a Web-based system that helps students plan and apply to the CSU online. It is designed to help students and their families learn about the CSU system, select a CSU campus, finance their higher education and apply for admission. The site offers technical support, course-check and open and closed campus information.

Students are advised to pay close attention to all of the admissions information they receive from the university, such as deadlines, event dates and the additional documents they need to finalize their applications.

Students in need of assistance with their electronic applications may call for technical support at (800) GO-TO-XAP (or 800-468-6927). The service is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
