Public Meeting on P.S. International Airport Slated for July 28

A second public meeting that will allow Coachella Valley residents the opportunity to comment on a new Master Plan for Palm Springs International Airport will be held July 28 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

The 6 p.m. meeting in Mesquite Room B will include a presentation about the Master Plan process. Parking is free and is located in the lot next to Convention Center on Amado Road.

A Master plan is required in order for the Airport to be eligible for federal funding and will provide the facility with an up-to-date plan that can adequately address forecasting in the short and long term as well as help ensure that it remains viable, safe and productive, according to Thomas Nolan, the Airport’s executive director.

The plan is expected to be completed sometime near the end of 2009.

“Palm Springs International Airport is such an important component in the future of the Coachella Valley and this public meeting is a good opportunity for residents to provide their input,” said Nolan. “We look forward to sharing with those that are interested… and listening to what they have to say.”
