Public Meeting on P.S. International Airport Plan Postponed
The July 28 public meeting regarding a new Master Plan for Palm Springs International Airport has been POSTPONED until a date yet to be determined in the fall.
The City is rescheduling the date to September or October to coincide with a special Airport Commission meeting -- so that the Commissioners can hear firsthand input from the public.
“As Palm Springs International Airport is one of the Coachella Valley’s key tourism drivers, we wanted to include a broader stakeholder dialogue in conjunction with the Commission,” said City Manager David Ready.
A Master plan is required in order for the Airport to be eligible for federal funding and will provide the facility with an up-to-date plan that can adequately address forecasting in the short and long term as well as help ensure that it remains viable, safe and productive.
The plan is expected to be submitted to the City Council near the end of 2009.
