Child Care Summit Set for Westin Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage
The Riverside County Family Child Care Association (RCFCCA) will host a Leadership Alliance Summit at the Westin Mission Hills Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage, Sept. 19 & 20.
Five participants will be selected from each of four different regions of the county to participate in this “Train the Trainers” session for mentors in family child care. A total of 20 participants from the Coachella Valley, Mid-County, Southwest County and West County will undergo the training. Deadline for entering is July 25.
RCFCCA has partnered with the Center for Health Training of Oakland in an effort to promote High Quality Child Care. The Center for Health Trainingoffers grant opportunities to Family Child Care Associations under a contract from the California Department of Education.
The Leadership Alliance Summit is a program designed to improve the quality of care provided to children in licensed family childcare homes. RCFCCA will provide empowerment tools to help successfully mentor/train new providers and to become more effective leaders in their communities.
Center for Health Training's goal through the Family Child Care Associations Development Project's grant is to support family child care associations to improve the quality of licensed family childcare. This is accomplished through professional development, developing linkages between licensed family child care providers and other groups, and also by building leadership capacity among family child care providers.
"CHT is confident that your project will be a great success, and we are glad to support you in that achievement," said Gracie Askew, Project Director for the Center for Health Training.
