‘Skeeters Don’t Let up in Ripley; More Fogging Tonight

The Riverside County Department of Environmental Health is still receiving mosquito complaints from the Ripley area in the southern Palo Verde Valley.

As a result, Environmental Health staff will be responding this afternoon and may conduct adult mosquito control operations this evening via a truck-mounted fogging unit.

Fortunately, there have been no confirmations of any additional West Nile Virus positive mosquitoes from this area at this point, according to Keith Jones, deputy director of District Environmental Services.

Nonetheless, residents are cautioned to take steps against mosquito bites when the insects are most likely to be present—at dawn and dusk. Also, the Environmental Health Department encourages people to be on the lookout for mosquito-breeding stagnant water.
