Community Action Partnership Announces Cool Centers
It may have arrived a bit late, but summer is very much alive and well here in the Desert District of Riverside County, and residents need to do all the right things to stay cool and stay well.
In addition to the normal precautions of drinking plenty of water, avoiding alcohol and wearing loose, lightweight clothing, you should also check in on friends and neighbors who are elderly or have medical conditions.
If you are alone and at home⦠use a fan, take a cool shower . . . or better yet, if you can, visit one of the following cool centers. Maybe you can get a friend to take you. Call 211 for helpful information, or call the Summer Energy Crisis Hotline toll free at 1 888 636-8876. Worst case scenario, dial 911 if you are in danger from the heat. Only Eisenhower Medical Center has a 24-hour, seven days per week Cool Center. Info at www.capriverside.org.
