County, City Cooperation Launches Waste Facility in Palm Springs

The City of Palm Springs and the County of Riverside officially took the wraps off the new Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility in the Resort City today.

Mayor Steve Pougnet presided over the ribbon cutting ceremonies, although the facility has actually been accepting the hazardous waste since July.

The Regional Permanent Palm Springs HHW facility not only replaces the ABOP (Antifreeze, Batteries, Oil and Paint) operation north of City Hall . . . but it accepts a more comprehensive list of materials than the ABOP.

For more on this story, including hours of operation and types of materials accepted, see our 4 th District July 27 story here -->  http://www.rivco4.org/web/news/articles/news_0036.html
