Auditions Set for COD Fall Production, 'Inherit The Wind'
The College of the Desert Performing Arts Department announces auditions for its Fall 2009 production of Inherit The Wind at Theater Too on the Palm Desert campus. The production will be directed by Guillermo Aviles-Rodriguez, Artistic Director of the Watts Village Theater Company, and a new adjunct instructor of theater at COD.
Inherit The Wind is a classic American drama by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee (1955). Inspired by the actual events of the Scopes “Monkey Trial” (1925), the play pits the teaching of evolution against religious orthodoxy.
Audition Dates & Times
Tuesday, Sept. 1, 6 p.m., Theatre Too (T-1), COD campus
Thursday, Sept. 3, 6:00 p.m., Theatre Too (T-1), COD campus
Both audition sessions are exactly the same. Individuals may audition at one or the
other.
Callbacks
Saturday, Sept. 5, 10 a.m., Theatre Too (T-1), COD campus
Audition Policies and Procedures
* Roles for both men and women of all ages, actors with some command of spoken Spanish are particularly encouraged to audition.
* No guests – auditions are closed to spectators.
* Please arrive early in order to complete audition forms.
* Plan on staying all evening (Tuesday or Thursday) or into the afternoon (Saturday).
* Auditions by appointment will be considered under special circumstances.
* Actors, please prepare a 2-3 minute dramatic monologue in English (classical or contemporary.) Actors should also be prepared to read from selected scenes from Inherit The Wind at the audition.

Paperwork
Individuals are encouraged to bring a one-page résumé that lists shows performances (include
name of show, company, role and year) and a recent postcard-size photo (b&w okay). These will
be attached to an audition form and are non-returnable.
