Grant Funding Available in Riverside County for DoD Research

With the Riverside County jobless rate in the stratosphere, the County of Riverside Office of Foreign Trade is reporting some good news for a change: Up to $850,000 is available for research & development programs for the Department of Defense (DoD).

The funding is for small technology companies that serve the DoD and have a commercial application. Here are some details:

        1.      Up to $ 850,000 in early stage R&D funding to small technology companies right here in Riverside County

        2.      If you do not have a company you still have time to form one and apply for R&D funds

        3.      Monies also can be used at UCR, Cal Baptist, La Sierra, or local community colleges if the business is

working in cooperation with the school in R&D

        4.      The DoD allows you to retain the intellectual copy rights

        5.      Funding is competitive

Riverside County businesses are strongly encouraged to check out this program. The Department of Defense has put billions into and we have already had one company here in Riverside Country submit for funding for R&D.  Applications are to be filed no later than Sept. 23.
