6th Annual Jacqueline Cochran Air Show Set for Nov. 7
If the window-rattling roar of an F-16 fighter jet gets your heart pumping, the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport is where you want to be the first Saturday in November. If it doesn’t , perhaps you want to be in the emergency room—just kidding. Not really.
Come enjoy the 6th Annual Jacqueline Cochran Air Show featuring military warplane fly-bys and aerobatic stunt pilots on Saturday, Nov, 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., not to mention all the fun and food.
The show, put on by the Riverside County Economic Development Agency and the Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport Authority, will feature performances from the United States Air Force. The F-16 West Coast Demo Team will be performing precision aerial maneuvers, demonstrating their unique capabilities.
Making a return appearance at this year’s air show is Bill Reesman performing in his Russian MiG-17F. The "Red Bull" performance always leaves the crowd wanting more as he blazes through the skies with his unbelievable stunts.
Other performers include Doug Jardine, Rob “The Tumbling Bear” Harrison, Martin Kennedy, Jon Melby and new to the show this year, Melissa Andrzejewski. The lineup is sure to “wow” the crowd with the beautifully choreographed maneuvers.
With more than 60 food, merchandise and specialty booths, there will be plenty to do. Be sure to stroll through the variety of vintage, military and civilian aircraft on display, including the breathtaking C-17, courtesy of the United States Air Force. Families with children will enjoy the Kids’ Zone filled with face-painters, balloon artists, hands on hat creations and crafts, giant bouncers, slides and more. With FREE admission & a FREE Kids’ Zone, you will not want to miss this spectacular event.
The Jacqueline Cochran Regional Airport is located at 56850 Higgins, Thermal, CA 92274. Take Interstate 10 to Highway 86 South, exit Airport Blvd West. There will be plenty of free parking with shuttles to and from the show.
