Palm Springs Featured on Martha Stewart Show Tomorrow on Fox
Lifestyle diva Martha Stewart will dedicate her entire show tomorrow on Palm Springs and the City’s fabulous desert lifestyle – in what she calls an “immersion tour of a stylish city and its modernist houses.”
The Sept. 29 show will air at 9 a.m. on KDFX Fox 11 in the Coachella Valley.
Stewart, who visited Palm Springs in April, takes a tour of some of the City’s famed mid-century modern architecture – including the Kaufmann House, Frey House II, and the Elrod House. She also explores a contemporary cactus garden designed by Francisca Coelho of the New York Botanical Garden, and fashion designer and part-time Palm Springs resident Trina Turk will unveil her latest collection -- tailor-made for the relaxed Palm Springs lifestyle.
In addition, the October issue of Martha Stewart Living features Stewart visiting a host of mid-century modern treasures during her Palm Springs visit.
“The tour was incredible, and we saw many of the important houses by a representative of noted Palm Springs architects, including William Cody, Albert Frey, John Lautner, and Richard Neutra,” according to Stewart in the October edition of her magazine.
She noted that the Lautner-designed Elrod House was her favorite.
Stewart also visited a host of antique stores in the City’s Uptown shopping district, stopped by a few local nurseries, visited Joshua Tree National Park, and dined at the popular Sherman’s Deli & Bakery in Palm Springs.
