Miss Blythe Pageant on Tap for Saturday Night at PVC

Ready or not, it’s time for the annual Miss Blythe Pageant, set for this Saturday night.

Seven young Palo Verde Valley residents will be vying for the title this year: Whitney Lomax, Tara Perkins, Michele Lisa, Heidi Coomes, Simone Lindberg, Julie Mitchell, and Justine St. John.

This year's event theme is "Fashion," and it will feature a fashion review of the Sonia Moreno Collection.

Blythe resident Moreno has had her collection featured in Hollywood events, with one of her designs featured in a Walt Disney movie production.

Palo Verde College’s Clancy Osborne Sports Complex is the venue for this year’s event, which gets under way at 7 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now at the Blythe Area Chamber of Commerce and at the Palo Verde Valley Times office. If you prefer any of the contestants will be happy to sell you tickets to the event.

The Miss Blythe Princess Program for girls aged 5 through 10 continues this year, as well, and it’s coordinated by Miss Blythe 2003 Samantha Heusdens.

Reigning Miss California's Outstanding Teen Monica Stainer is also schedule to be on hand. Stainer recently competed for the title of Miss America's Outstanding Teen, where she was preliminary talent and evening wear winner and ultimately 4th runner up to Miss America's Outstanding Teen.

Stainer will be performing ballet to Don Quixote.

Also, returning to Blythe for a second year as emcee/entertainer, is Miss California 2007, Melissa Chaty, along with reigning Miss Blythe, Kati VanderPol.
