Mesa Verde Community Center Project Goes to Supervisors
The Riverside County Board of Supervisors is expected to award a bid tomorrow for $2.2 million to construct the new Mesa Verde Community and Childcare Center.
The project was championed by the late Supervisor Roy Wilson, and, in accordance with his energy efficiency criteria, will feature solar panels on the roof.
The community center will include a child care facility, a community meeting room and office space comprising, in all, slightly more than 5,000 square feet. The community center will be the latest piece of a Mesa Verde improvement project which also features a new water system, and recently paved roads.
The low responsive bidder on the project is Ericson-Hall Construction Company.
The project is funded entirely by redevelopment project money and does not impact the County’s General Fund.
Ribbon cutting is currently set for next March, during the Palo Verde Outlook Conference.
Fifth District Supervisor Marion Ashley, knowing how important this project was to his late colleague, has expressed an interest in naming the facility after Roy Wilson.
